This Labor Day Weekend, we decided to drive and visit a new city in Georgia called Acworth. It's about 35 mins from our house and made for a really fun day trip. Since we are originally from Miami, holidays like these always call for water and Acworth actually offered a lake/beach nearby with a huge playground for kids.
Needless to say, we will be back again - the park included shaded areas, grilling options, a larger playground, kayak rentals and a family friendly beach. Plus, plenty of parking and best of all Lake Acworth Beach is free to the public during the week and only $10 for parking all day, on the weekends.
Once we had our fun at the beach, we then made our way to a few other hot spots that I have shared for you below:
- Bert and Boos Bake Shop - a delicious local bakery with sweet treats the whole family can enjoy :)
- JD's BBQ - authentic bbq in the heart of Acworth that you have to try for lunch or dinner.
- Historic Downtown Acworth - this cute downtown has recently gone through a major renovation and actually has a new park, mini museum and more.
