Ice Cream Sandwiches for National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day Sponsored by Voortman Bakery
We love cookies at Bambina Diaries and so do our girls. So, we decided to team up with our friends at Voortman Bakery for a special treat in honor of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. They sponsored this post by providing us with samples of their chocolate chip and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. They are so delicious and best of all baked with real chocolate, no artificial colors or flavors and no high fructose corn syrup.
Below is a quick recipe that Sofia and I did with our Voortman Bakery cookies that you too can try at home. Feel free to modify this recipe however you prefer, as I know everyone has their favorite ice cream flavor. Best of all Voortman Bakery cookies are available at Target! Recipe: Ice Cream Sandwiches - Vanilla and Chocolate with Voortman Bakery cookies
(2) small pints of vanilla and chocolate ice cream
(1) ice cream scooper
(2) boxes of Voortman Bakery cookies ( we used Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip)
(1) cooking board
(1) serving plate
First take your pints of ice cream out of the freezer so they can begin to thaw. Next prep your cooking board with as many cookies as you want to prepare. Remember each ice cream sandwich will take two cookies (consider mixing and matching of you like). Next place 1-2 scoops of ice cream on one cookie and then place the other cookie on top to make a perfect ice cream sandwich. If you want consider buying colored sprinkles or chocolate chips to decorate the edges. Then enjoy! (TIP: If you want to eat them later on, store them in the freezer till you are ready to eat them, that way they don't melt)
