Let's talk about school! Virtual and Homeschool tips, tricks, and more.

For many of us, school is going to be a bit different this year, and whether it's virtual or homeschooling, our role as mom will soon be morphed into that of "teacher". For Krystal and I, our girls will no longer be attending school in person, rather Annemarie will be learning virtually and Sofia will be homeschooled. So, if you find yourself in the same boat, we are here to help. Read below for tips, resources and much more!

Tips for Homeschooling from Lucid Chart.com

  • Create a designated learning space. Homeschooling is fun, exciting, and often messy.

  • Follow a daily schedule. (Scroll below for a few examples)

  • Map out the school year ahead of time.

  • Set learning goals together.

  • Take learning beyond the classroom. (Outdoor activities and adventures are always more fun for kids. Consider contacting your local museum or kid-friendly attractions to see what take-home items or COVID safe hours they have available)

  • Make learning a family activity. (Let Dad participate too! At our house, he will be teaching PE lol !)

  • Collaborate with other homeschoolers. (For a list of homeschoolers in your are visit -

  • Ease into school. (Don't put to much pressure on yourself of your child, you can do this!)

Here are a few more articles with great tips if this is the path you will be choosing.
