Wine Tips for the Summer
This past week we shared a fun wine giveaway thanks to our friend Lea Donoso and Scout and Cellar. So, that got me thinking! Why not share some fun wine tips that everyone can enjoy this summer.
Here's are some tips to make your wine taste the best from Scout and Cellar consultant Lea Donoso: (To connect with Lea directly you can reach her via IG @leaadonoso)
Wine doesn't like constant temperature changes (going from hot to cold, cold to hot, etc), so make sure to keep that in mind this summer.
Whites & Rosés do best between 49-55 degrees. You can store your wine in the fridge, which is typically around 40 degrees, but just make sure you open the bottle and let it sit on the counter at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Reds do best between 62-68 degrees. Its recommended to store them in a wine cellar/wine fridge with preset temperature settings. I sometimes stick my reds in my AC closet since it’s a dark and cool area if I don’t have room in my cellar. Be sure to open them at least 20-30 minutes before you’re ready to drink to allow for them to air out and ultimately taste the best.
Always store wine laying down because the cork needs to stay wet! Otherwise you might end up with a bad cork.
